The wickedly fast Lucky Folie might emerge as star of the show Sunday at Santa Anita, but the program includes wagering opportunities more appealing than the $75,000 Angel’s Flight Stakes for 3-year-old sprint fillies. Specifically, races 1, 4, and 6 include legitimate contenders at tempting prices.
Saturday’s card at Santa Anita features two stakes races – the $75,000 Singletary for 3-year-olds on turf and the Grade 3 Laz Barrera for 3-year-olds on the main track. I’ll construct my wagers focusing on these events.

For the past several weeks, I have been playing on the beta version of the exchange-wagering platform that Monmouth Park and Betfair launched Tuesday. I am intrigued by the possibilities this style of gambling represents and think it will really catch on with players if rolled out to a wider audience.
My advice to horseplayers playing the all-stakes pick four at Belmont Park on Saturday: Keep tabs on the weather. There is a threat of rain Saturday, with the potential to alter the condition of the main track and turf course.
