In examining the past performances of Saturday’s Grade 2 Amsterdam at Saratoga, some might conclude March and Barbados are the classiest runners in the field. The former is a multiple graded winner, and the latter is a graded winner who also boasts another stakes triumph and a graded placing.
Unless the pace is so slow it is impossible for the race to get a big Beyer, it should take a triple-digit number to win the Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga. Frosted and Texas Red are both quite capable of earning the likely winning figure.
ven though I expect him to be less than his morning-line odds of 10-1, I like Iron Fist in the West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer Racetrack.
