First of all, there is normally no live racing after the Hambletonian, but the Big M resumed action last week the Friday (Aug. 8) after the 100th edition of the Hambo, with the first of six weeks of harness action that will go until Saturday, Sept. 13.

As he works his way out of a rough patch, Virginia-bred Gigante will return home as a heavy favorite in the $125,000 Find Stakes at Colonial Downs on Saturday. The 1 1/16-mile race will be trainer Steve Asmussen's first stakes at the track since 2023, when Gigante completed a three-start stint that included a victory in the Grade 2 Secretariat.
