Jahaafel is a deserving favorite, having run well in both of his starts, but has gotten absolutely perfect trips, so it’s not as if you can reasonably expect significant improvement. He also must handle this stretch-out to 10 furlongs. I’ll use him, but I think a couple of others may offer better value.
Sunday’s card at Santa Anita is highlighted by the $70,000 Anoakia Stakes for 2-year-old fillies, carded as the third race on a nine-race card. Based on its placement, I’ll look at the pick-five sequence beginning in race 1.

It's Maryland Million Day at Laurel, where it's fast and firm. The midcard pick four features races with apparent singles in the first and final legs, but perhaps there's some value to be had by going deep in the middle legs.
I’m most interested in horses that should be coming from off the pace. The one to fear is We Should Talk, who won his debut impressively in fast time, and goes out for a dangerous barn. I’ll be using him, but my top pick is Big Gemmy.
