RACE 8
Saturday's Gulfstream card features three graded stakes, including the rescheduled Swale at seven furlongs for 3-year-olds. That sprint marks the 3-year-old debut of the talented Daredevil (1), a Todd Pletcher-trained colt who was so impressive winning his first two career starts. With Beyer Speed Figures of 96 and 107, plus a Grade 1 victory, under his girth, Daredevil will be well-backed on Saturday and is the most likely winner of the Swale.
I'm betting against him.
It’s not just a thrill to be able to watch Shared Belief, likely the best horse in the land, race in the Santa Anita Handicap. But his presence provides you with a “free square” to help with a number of your multi-race wagers.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Before Gulfstream halted last Saturday’s card due to torrential rain, I liked the outside horse to beat the inside-drawn favorite in the Grade 2 Swale. With that race reset for Saturday, that’s still my opinion – only the specific outside-based choice has changed in a redrawn race from X Y Jet to Bluegrass Singer.
