I had no intention of even considering the Rainbow 6, but through a first pass of Sunday’s card, it just so happened that the first race to pique my interest was race 7, which starts the sequence.
It is your typical $8,000 claiming sprint for non-winners during the past six months, and in these events, I’m always looking for horses that barely sneak in under the date restriction – horses like UPON REFLECTION (#2), whose last victory at Monmouth Park came a week before the Sept. 8 cutoff.

Going to try a small ticket in the late pick four Saturday at Santa Anita, which, following the scratch of Chitu from the ninth race, leaves the sequence with two singles – CONQUEST TWO STEP (4) in the ninth and SHARED BELIEF in the Big Cap, race 11. Hoping to connect to a price in the first leg and potentially make the pick four return respectable; obviously CONQUEST TWO STEP and SHARED BELIEF will be singled on many tickets.
