Giga Kick’s career changed when the Southern Hemisphere 3-year-old won the world’s richest sprint, the $9.3 million Everest Stakes at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, Australia last October. Giga Kick was 20-1 in the Everest and has since been the subject of consistently high expectations, often failing to duplicate the achievement. Giga Kick has since won once in four starts, in the Grade 1 All Aged Stakes at seven furlongs at Randwick on April 15, leading to another round of high hopes for his appearance in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 Stakes at six furlongs at Doomben Racecourse in Brisbane on Friday evening.
