Driver Scott Zeron guided Fauvette Hanover and JK Lady Liberty to victories in a pair of $63,826 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes tests for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Thursday afternoon at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Heavy rain and a sloppy track made for a less than ideal night, but Rose Run Cowboy and My Body Guard braved the elements and defeated their competitors in a pair of New York Sire Stakes divisions for 2-year-old male pacers on Thursday (August 20) at MGM Yonkers Raceway.

We are one week removed from the announcement that after 46 years the Hambletonian is leaving the Meadowlands. It should come as no surprise that on a personal level this is not a decision I am happy about and I want to be upfront about that. I feel some heartbreak as I write this column. For me, this is like the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn. The Hambletonian at the Meadowlands is a race I have attended more than 25 times, many with my dad and more recently an event I have attended with my son. There is even a picture of my son at six weeks old in the Hambletonian trophy that was used in several racing publications. It's a part of my childhood and much like the Dodgers continue to play baseball, the Hambletonian will continue. But it will continue someplace else and for me, it won't be the same. But I am not going to write paragraph upon paragraph about my disappointment. There is far more at stake.

There is a reason that more than 40 percent of marriages end in divorce. Relationships require communication, trust and certainly the willingness to compromise. When those pillars break down the relationship erodes, and from the standpoint of Madison Global, that is what led to Big Ranger moving on from trainer Ronnie Gillespie to Anette Lorentzon.
