Race 1: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $6,500 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(4) WICKED EXPRESS is third back now and finally draws a decent post. He could pop at a price if he takes another step forward. (7) SHOW STOP was unable to make up ground in last week’s quick race. He finds a different group this week and should have a much better chance to get into the race. (3) WILLS WATCHIN lost by less than a length last time and draws well tonight. He should use enough gate speed to work out a decent trip again.

Race 2: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. WITH ALLOWANCES.

(7) TREACHEROUS WIND tried to make two moves on debut but has shown zero gate speed since. I wouldn’t mind seeing her be put in play tonight at a likely price. (1) DAGGER ONE raced on the outside for a long time in his latest and now finds himself with major post relief. His versatility should give him a chance regardless of trip. (4) CHERRY BOMBER was better in his latest when put in play. He was placed back to fifth but that doesn’t discredit the effort he put in. This post draw helps.

Race 3: 2 YEAR OLDS: NW 2 RACES OR $20,000 LIFETIME.

(6) UBIQUITOUS paced a sharp back half to get himself into the mix. Look for him to show gate speed in this short field. (2) ERINWOOD TRITON could split the favorites and add slight value to the exactas if he doesn’t sit too far back. He has trotted well through the wire in most of his miles. (5) KIRWIN’s last race can be pitched in all honesty. Those fractions were absurd and a final quarter like that was honestly expected.

Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS 3 RACES) OR $11,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(6) HILARYS HITLIST is rounding into winning form and most recently finished a solid second after three weeks off. She draws well and looks to finally break her maiden. (8) SHOW MUST GO ON is second back after being favored in her return, but she didn’t quite show enough for me to pull the trigger. (1) BRIANS HALO is another who hasn’t shown the punch capable to get herself in contention for a win. She is a consistent underneath use though.

Race 5: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME.

(4) MISS MASS APPEAL raced very well to hit the board in the Grassroots Final and earned a nice chunk of change. She now finds a good draw in an overnight group that she should have every chance against. (6) HP IMAGINE gets J-Mac’s nod and those two have gotten along quite well in recent tries. She has peppered the board this season but has frequently been right there. Overdue for a win. (3) DOUNEEDTHEMACHINE set a new career best last week and picks up the services of Mark Macdonald who has driven her once before. She will need to class up to challenge the top two in my opinion.

Race 6: 2 YEAR OLDS: NW 1 RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(10) FLORIET closed sharply in her latest. I’ll count on her new pilot to work out a winning trip from this outside draw. (1) DEFY GRAVITY stayed on nicely after trying an outside move in what was her best-looking race to date. If she doesn’t get held up too much in the opening quarter, I would expect another quality outing. (7) SHERRYS FRIEND looms as an unknown price chance after an open length score in her second qualifier. We’ll see what she has to offer on debut.

Race 7: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS 3 RACES) RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: N/A $1,200 P/S IN 2026.

(8) WHADD appeared just even in his latest but trotted a mile that is more than good enough to beat this group. Gate speed allowed him to run away three starts ago. (4) CARATS RUNAWAY returns to Mohawk and makes her third start on Lasix. Prior outings on the big track have seen her unable to finish the job, but Lasix might add a bit more when she needs it most. (1) TYMAL ELECTRA has navigated the rail nicely in recent outings but is more of an underneath type in this spot.

Race 8: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS 3 RACES) RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: N/A $1,200 P/S IN 2026.

(3) NICKSIN trotted a quality mile in his latest and is improving with each outing. I think he gets the job done tonight. (5) P L TEQUILA broke her maiden with an impressive rally in the back half at Flamboro. A sustained move on the bigger track should see her right in the mix. (8) ABBY ROSE MEN was much better in her latest and finished second behind the aforementioned Douneedthemachine. She may be forced to work from off the pace but can close for a piece.

Race 9: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. WITH ALLOWANCES.

(5) ROCKIN JADE DEO makes a major drop from graded stakes competition and likely towers over this short field. (6) JULIARD SEELSTER has the upside on her side after posting a solid mile on debut. If she is able to track the favorite during the mile, she could pose a chance at the upset. (4) SHOTGUN ANNIE comes off another sharp win at a smaller track where she was able to sustain her outside move. Not sure if she’ll be willing to try it here, but a late move could get her a piece.

Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW 2 RACES OR $26,500 LIFETIME. AE: N/A $1,875 P/S IN 2026.

(1) ALEKSOVA cruised by her rivals late in the mile two starts ago and never had a chance to get involved last week from an outside post. She makes her second start with a new pilot and should slot back in nicely against these. (5) MC PRINCESS got around the Mohawk oval just fine earlier in her season and is coming into this race with decent enough form. (4) FREIGHT TRAIN BABY broke her maiden last week after sustaining an outside move. I would expect her to be in the mix again despite stepping up in class.
