Two stars of harness racing - one firmly established and the other one budding - will be in action at the Meadowlands on Friday (Sept. 4) as the track hosts the elimination round of the New Jersey Classic series. Hambletonian winner Apex and the undefeated Wall Of Fame will compete in consecutive races as prohibitive favorites in the 3-year-old colt and gelding trot and 2-year-old filly trot, respectively.

Hall of Fame driver Tim Tetrick finds himself in two prime spots on Saturday night, hoping to find the winner's circle in a pair of Grade 1 finals at Woodbine Mohawk Park - the C$705,000 Canadian Pacing Derby and the C$620,000 Maple Leaf Trot.
Just one winning favorite and three horses that prevailed at odds of 46-1, 8-1 and 10-1 led to the early Pick 4 not being hit on Thursday (September 4) at MGM Yonkers Raceway. That means there will be an $8,209.61 carryover and a $40,000 guaranteed pool in the sequence on Friday (September 4).

Nicklas Andersen spent more than a half-dozen years working for several of the most recognized names in harness racing before starting his own training stable. Now, the 30-year-old native of Denmark is hoping to make his own name in the sport.
With the four-week break from harness racing at The Meadowlands coming up soon, Leg 9 of the $1,000 Big M Monthly Handicapping Contest takes place this Saturday (Sept. 5) just two weeks since the previous leg, instead of the usual four.
