Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 11/3/26

Matt Rose|Nov 02, 2026
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2026 MEET STATS: 337 - 1059 / $1,846.85 (-$271.15)

BEST BETS: 62 - 111 / $211.92 (-$10.08)

BEST BET: AVF CLAIRE (6th)

SPOT PLAY: CAPTAIN AMORE N (4th)

Race 1: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(1) STAYINGWITHTHEWIND faltered at odds-on when dropped to this level last out but she draws well again against a soft group and she'll look to control from start to finish. (8) TWO BEAN DREAM is very sharp but has the worst post and last time she drew all the way out she trailed from start to finish. She needs to land at least midpack here. (2) TRICKY WICKY is capable of landing a piece if she saves ground all the way.

Race 2: 2-5YO Winners of 2-4 races or $60,000 LT Pace

(4) NO WAITLIST ships from Ontario into what has to be considered a softer spot; Macintosh trainee was highly thought of enough to enter in the Jug but had no rally from post six. Brennan can get aggressive here. (1) ARISTA N was used and pressed last out, faltering late; moves inside. (5) JUST GIVENER settled for second as the heavy favorite in local debut after a big longshot (#7 in here) rolled to the front.

Race 3: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(1) KISSIN JOE was run over last week but she lands a great post again looking to win her third in last five races. (2) ALWAYS B LAYLA IR only has one win in her last handful of races but she puts in a solid effort every week. (4) GABBYS WISH gets a new driver with Boyd and she's also a consistent presence at this $20K claiming level; she would be no surprise here as likely third choice.

Race 4: 2-5YO Winners of 2-4 races or $60,000 LT Pace

(1) CAPTAIN AMORE N has had a couple of sick scratches recently but he's back now on consecutive weeks and moves all the way to the rail; recent import will need a local-best effort but is capable. (3) NOVA BLU finally draws well after a string of awful posts; Alexander trainee is a big threat. (7) GANDHI is second-time Lasix, first-time Bartlett for this barn. Poor post but he's an interesting look.

Race 5: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(6) GINGER TREE LIZ finished well last week from a no-chance spot; what do we think of this veteran mare taking a shot firing from the gate? She's got proven speed and back class. (2) FIGHTING EVIL failed to convert in her last couple when in good spots; Engblom trainee draws well again and will be favored with Bartlett. (1) TH SANDRA DEE finished third here in this class back in September; rail draw puts her in play.

Race 6: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(4) AVF CLAIRE gets away from her rival tonight and will be the one taking control early; looks much the best here at a minuscule price. (6) DISCOVERINGTHEHUNT finished well last week at a big price and always puts up good last quarters; maybe she's the one emerging from the pack to rally by the rest and offer some value underneath. (1) BOUT DAMN TIME A figures to be sitting the pocket in her second race after the bump up in class and she'll complete a chalky exacta if she can hold for second.

Race 7: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) SUMMOMENTSOMWHERE A went a big effort in defeat for these connections off the claim and he's sharp enough and has enough back class to get it done here. (4) COOPERSTOWN BOY was last seen in the Breeders Crown Final (at 269/1) and is probably faster and more talented but I'm often leery about these types at short prices. (2) HIMSELF N should be competitive here from an inside post considering he was claimed for $40K not too far back.

Race 8: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) RAGNAR LOTHBROK N had a pocket trip from the rail three back and won, then was outside his next two and failed to get involved. Back inside tonight. (4) BALLROOM AFFAIR is another lightly-raced 3YO facing elders but he jogged last week and can stay at the same level. Bartlett drives tonight for Bongiorno and will be a heavy favorite. (6) KWICK SAND A lost at Plainridge last week but has multiple wins at higher class levels.

Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(8) CURLY JAMES A has been a terror at this optional $60K claiming level and he's expected to be firing from the eight hole; top call for top connections despite the post. (4) ESCAPE TO AMERICA went over the seasonal $100K earnings mark last week and he's got consistent fast last quarter action. (1) WHATS STANLEY GOT A was second at this level two back and figures to be close up leaving from post one.

Race 10: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) MY ULTIMATE BYRON A gets an interesting driver change to Holland as he drops and meets a shaky field. I can see this veteran making the front and wiring these. (3) BET ON BIG JOE burned money when dropped in class last week and gets a chance to redeem himself as the potential favorite again. (5) SKYLOU N gets Bartlett back in the bike but has little else going for him right now.
