King's Plate winner Mansetti will try to keep his roll going at Fort Erie in Tuesday's second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, the 90th running of the $400,000 Prince of Wales Stakes over 1 3/16 miles on the dirt.
The reasons for this initiative are to substantially increase the purses for our most important stakes and to demonstrate to New Jersey legislators that our industry is united in its pursuit of having a bill to permit a gaming license be granted to The Meadowlands in 2027.

Coming off a sixth-place finish in the Grade 1 Whitney, Post Time will return to Laurel Park on Sunday as an overwhelming favorite in the $100,000 Polynesian Stakes. He will enter the race, which he won by 11 1/2 lengths last year, with a flawless nine-race record at his home track.

Among this year's first-crop yearling sires, the obvious headliner has been unbeaten Horse of the Year Flightline, who garnered a stellar book of mares in his first season at stud and is already garnering strong commercial results. But he is by no means the only accomplished racehorse in this class.

Although bidding can take place online, the yearling market has remained largely a brick-and-mortar one, with horses presented physically on the sale grounds and through the sale ring. Nowhere is that more evident than at Keeneland September, which brands itself as the world's marketplace. Buyers representing 31 countries purchased horses at the 2024 edition of the auction, which set records for gross and average and tied the record median.
