Naevussquall will be making a notable distance move Tuesday in the $50,000 Totah, one of two stakes on a straight Thoroughbred program at SunRay Park in Farmington, N.M. The card also features the $50,000 C.O. Ken Kendrick Memorial. Both stakes are restricted to 2-year-olds bred in New Mexico.
The Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $350,000 on Saturday, Gulfstream Park announced. The jackpot has not been hit for 16 race dates, since July 16, when it paid $164,483.
There will be a big crowd trying to secure one of 10 spots in the gate for the $3 million All American Futurity for Quarter Horses at Ruidoso Downs.
Rock and Glory broke sharply, set fast fractions, and was never challenged while winning the $75,000 City of Edmonton Distaff by 3 1/4 lengths at Northlands Park on Friday night. She paid $4.40 as the solid favorite in the 1 1/16-mile race for fillies and mares that drew eight horses.

Stays in Vegas ($2.10) was just as impressive in winning her second start in the Wine Country Debutante on Friday at the Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa as she was in winning her debut in the Juan Gonzalez Memorial at Pleasanton.

Wiggle It Jiggleit, the premier 3-year-old pacer in North America, seized command in the $405,000 Carl Milstein Memorial at Northfield Park through a 26 1/5 opening quarter and then had his way for driver Montrell Teague. The son of Mr Wiggles cruised to a 1:49 3/5 victory, easily shaking off the pressure of Wakizashi Hanover and holding pocket-sitter Lost For Words at bay without concern.

It was a case of role reversal on Friday night at Hoosier Park. Trainer Jimmy Takter had the numbers in last week’s $1 million Hambletonian, five to one against trainer Ron Burke. In the $300,000 22nd edition of the Dan Patch, Takter flew solo with JK Endofanera and in the end wound up taking down five of Burke’s horses to capture the event.

The talent always has been there with Curlin’s Fox, whom trainer Carla Gaines has held in high regard since before she ever ran. But the 3-year-old filly is a notoriously bad bleeder, and that has interrupted her promising career, twice necessitating brief breaks.

Hall of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux had Breathalyzer readings of 0.047 and 0.041 between races at Del Mar on July 29, the day he was taken off his final two mounts and later cited by California Horse Racing Board investigators for being under the influence of alcohol.
