HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Itsaknockout will go down in the record books as the official winner of the 2015 Fountain of Youth Stakes. But for trainer Todd Pletcher, that victory was somewhat bittersweet, coming as it did via the controversial disqualification of Upstart. Many, including Pletcher himself, thought that decision could have gone either way.
On Saturday, Pletcher and everybody else is hoping the end result will be more conclusive when Itsaknockout and Upstart square off once again in the Grade 1, $1 million Florida Derby.
For the second year in a row, Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Ky., will subject horses entered in the April 4 Blue Grass Stakes to additional security protocols, including 24-hour monitoring in the 48 hours leading up to the race.
ARCADIA, Calif. – Ocho Ocho Ocho, the winner of the $1 million Delta Jackpot Stakes in Louisiana last November but eighth in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes on March 7, is likely to run in the $1 million Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on April 4.
Trainer Jim Cassidy said on Wednesday that he is “probably leaning toward Keeneland” as opposed to a start in the $1 million Santa Anita Derby the same day. The Blue Grass Stakes and Santa Anita Derby are run at 1 1/8 miles and are key preps for Triple Crown races.

We are five weeks away from the Kentucky Derby, and I admit to feeling confused. You ever look at a race over and over until all the horses start to look the same? You eventually get a headache and finally just move on to the next race. I am just about there with this Derby.
