ARCADIA, Calif. - Midas Eyes, a troubled fourth in the Strub Stakes on Feb. 7, may make his next start in the $1 million Godolphin Mile in Dubai on March 27, trainer Bobby Frankel said.

Though plans have not been finalized, Frankel said the one-turn mile race on dirt would suit Midas Eyes, who has won 3 of 9 starts, including two stakes, and placed in three other graded races.

Tackers Girl unlikely to be alone on lead

ALBANY, Calif. - A pair of recent graduates meeting winners for the first time provide a handicapping puzzle in Golden Gate Fields's co-features on the holiday Monday card.

Tackers Girl, never worse than second in three starts here, steps up to the $40,000 starter allowance level in a six-furlong race for fillies and mares. A 5-year-old mare, Tackers Girl was a three-length wire-to-wire winner in a $16,000 maiden claimer in her last start.

Bear Fan the victor in Barbara Fritchie

Ryan Fogelsonger celebrated his return to the Maryland circuit by guiding the even-money favorite Bear Fan to win the Grade 2, $200,000 on Saturday at Laurel.

Bear Fan ($4.20), who shipped in from California off a closing third in the Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Sprint on Jan. 25, was solid in her one-length victory over second choice Gazillion. Fogelsonger had Bear Fan four deep down the backstretch, just off a heavily contested early pace, and sent her to challenge Balmy into the stretch.

Super High won't be alone in front

ARCADIA, Calif. - has proven to be dangerous in recent years when she was allowed to set her own pace in two-turn stakes. When she starts in Sunday's $100,000 Pro or Con Handicap at Santa Anita, gaining such an advantage may be difficult.

Super High has six rivals in the Pro or Con, a one-mile turf race for California-bred fillies and mares, and could face an early threat from Bold Roberta, who is in outstanding form.

"I want to be out there by myself," said Carla Gaines, who trains Super High.
