Snowdrops wins fourth straight

Snowdrops, and jockey Joe Bravo, charge down the final stretch to win the $60,000 Politely Stakes at Monmouth Park.

OCEANPORT, N.J. - The well-traveled Snowdrops posted her fourth straight victory Sunday afternoon with a rallying score in the $60,000 Politely Stakes for fillies and mares on the turf at Monmouth Park.

Bred in England, Snowdrops ($5) won the four races at four different tracks. The streak started at the Fair Grounds, continued at Keeneland and hit three at Belmont Park.

The level of consistency made her the favorite of the Father's Day crowd of 23,896, the biggest turnout of the young season.

Snowdrops beat Noisette by a half length with Lojo third.

Ninebanks wins Foster City Handicap

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Ninebanks ($8) won the closing day $65,387 Foster City Handicap at Bay Meadows on Sunday ahead of stablemate Adreamisborn as trainer Jerry Hollendorfer won his seventh stakes race of the meet as he recorded his fourth one-two stakes finish.

Ninebanks sat 71/2 (seven one-half) lengths off Vallarta's early pace down the backstretch, followed defending champion Handyman Bill inside on the second turn and made an explosive move at the top of the stretch to take command.

Clubay gets stakes win in Rose City

Clubay wins the $60,000 Rose City at Fort Erie by 2 1/4 lengths on Sunday.

FORT ERIE, Ont. - Clubay became a stakes winner here in Sunday's $60,000 Rose City, dueling throughout and fending off Alittlebitgrumpy to prevail by 2 1/4 lengths.

Low Key Affair finished third, another 1 1/2 lengths back, with Simply Precious fourth in the field of six.

Clubay, a 6-year-old owned by Richard McMaster and Gemini Farm, was clocked in 1:12.17 for the six furlongs and paid $3.10.

Neil Poznansky rode the winner.

One for Rose defeats Winning Chance on Sunday at Woodbine while capturing the $175,750 Ontario Matron Handicap.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - One for Rose defeated Winning Chance for the sixth time in their six meetings Sunday at Woodbine while capturing the $175,750 Ontario Matron Handicap.

One for Rose pressed front-running Handpainted through unhurried splits of :24.13 seconds and :48.31 in the mile and a sixteenth race for fillies and mares. One for Rose hit the front midway on the far turn, and held Winning Chance at bay through the stretch to score by a length and a half under Emile Ramsammy.

Pie N Burger along in time in Ark-La-Tex Handicap

Fly Esteem upsets Alberta Derby at 40-1

CALGARY, Alberta - Fly Esteem ($83.70) became the longest-priced winner of the Alberta Derby since Arctic Blitz paid $144.60 in 1989 and provided trainer Bob Kingston and rider Desmond Bryan with their most lucrative success and first taste of a Derby celebration.

Kingston made two key changes prior to last Saturday's 74th running of the $100,000 Alberta Derby, adding a version of tongue tie known as a "running W" and putting Fly Esteem, an Alberta-bred son of Esteem, on Lasix for the first time.

Court's in Session wins Bay Meadows Breeders' Cup Sprint

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Court's in Session ($17.80) stalked a hot pace and made a strong move along the rail in the stretch to win the Grade 3 Bay Meadows Breeders' Cup Sprint on Saturday.

Claimed two starts back for $32,000 by trainer Brian Koriner, Court's in Session scored his third straight victory, holding off late-closing Debonair Joe by 2 1/4 lengths in the six-furlong race. Debonair Joe finished a neck in front of early pacesetter Hombre Rapido, who was a neck in front of favored Green Team. The winning time was 1:08.91.
