He won the 2,000th race of his career, rode Carthage to victory over Eclipse Award winner Lost in the Fog, was handed a five-day suspension, won a second stakes on Sunday, and then survived Ruttini's fatal breakdown with only a bruised right shoulder.

Carr won his 2,000th race in Thursday's fifth aboard Joan Elle, and he didn't even realize the significance of the victory until he was handed a sign that commemorated the event for the winner's circle photo.
