ARCADIA, Calif. - Flip Flop and Dreams, both of whom have found graded stakes company a bit too steep, will take a slight class drop Monday in hopes of returning to the winner's circle in the restricted Swingtime Stakes at Santa Anita's Oak Tree meeting.

Flip Flop is winless in eighth starts, all in graded stakes races, since winning a money-allowance race at Del Mar in July 2005. This will be her first start since April, when she finished eighth of 10 in the Wilshire Handicap at Hollywood Park.

Diamond Stripes has help in Meadowlands Cup

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Diamond Stripes won the Grade 2, $500,000 Meadowlands Cup on Friday night with a little help from a friend.

Uncoupled stablemate Mr. Umphrey played the role of rabbit in the 1 1/8 miles race, opening a wide lead on the speed-favoring track at 71-1.

"I thought he was a winner turning for home," said his trainer, Richard Dutrow Jr.
