Trip Notes for April 4: Wood, Ashland, Blue Grass, Fantasy, Santa Anita Derby and more...

Saturday, April 4

Aqueduct - Gazelle (race 8)

COMMENT: Condo Commando again used her speed to prove she’s the best 3-year-old filly in New York as she notched her fifth win in six starts and punched her ticket to the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks at Churchill May 1. She went right out to the lead, took mild pressure first from Puca and then Jacaranda, put them away turning for home, opened up a clear lead and held it to the line.

Free: How I'd play Santa Anita on Sunday, April 5

ARCADIA, Calif. – Sunday is a good day to hunt for Easter eggs and overlays. The eggs will be in the Santa Anita infield; the overlays are in races 1 and 6.

Race 1

BLUEGRASS REWARD (2) bombed as the favorite last out. Something upset him in the post parade. He washed out, raced wide, failed to show speed, and finished a distant third. He was claimed for $16,000 by Doug O’Neill.
