On a day that's all about honoring the horses we've seen running over the inner track all winter, few are more deserving of recognition than one of my personal favorites – TESTOSTERSTONE (#6).

It’s Florida Derby Day at Gulfstream Park and guaranteed wagering pools are everywhere. The Rainbow Six is guaranteed at $2 million, the late pick five at $500,000 and the late pick four at $750,000. I’m particularly interested in the pick five, which comprises races 10-14.

RACE 10 – HONEY FOX

ARCADIA, Calif. - The single-ticket jackpot carryover pool at Santa Anita has swelled to $534,552.

The pick six was not hard to conquer Friday, with four favorites winning and no horses that paid more than $7.60. The pick six paid $307. Consolation tickets with five were worth $8.20.

The winners of Friday’s pick six races were Cat Burglar ($5), Sheza Chattykat ($5.40), Bolita Boyz ($4), Plastered ($7.60), Burnaroundtheedges ($5.20), and Agent Nine T Nine ($3.40).

Sheza Chattykat, Bolita Boyz, Burnaroundtheedges and Agent Nine T Nine were favored.

Race 2:

Little Bear Cat (#2)
Has been steadily improving for Dave Cannizzo.
Did all the hard work putting away her main pace rival last time before getting run down late.
Runs well over wet tracks.

Despite a gate ruckus that delayed the start for several long minutes, our stand-alone Pick Alliford Bay acted, and then ran, professionally to score an impressive win over the favorite to pay a generous nine bucks. There were eight other BreezeFigs maidens which won during the week: Aqueduct (BreezeFigs exacta), Fair Grounds, Gulfstream, Oaklawn (two), Parx and Santa Anita (two).

ARCADIA, Calif. - The single-ticket jackpot carryover pool has surpassed the half-million dollar mark at Santa Anita.

There were multiple winners of the pick six Thursday, leaving a single-ticket carryover of $515,717 for Friday. The pick six paid $5,357 on Thursday.

The winners of Thursday’s pick six were Distinctiv Passion ($4), Scathing ($5.40), Abbey Vale ($19.40), Champions Dinner ($4.60), Sawyer’s Hill ($9), and Magical Lucy ($8.20).

Thursday’s pick six pool reached $167,987. Consolation tickets with five winners Thursday were worth $50.60.
