Race 4:

Maddizaskar (#4)
Has been in excellent form since switching to dirt.
Never had a chance on turf last time when attempting to close into a slow pace.

Gierkink: How I'll play Woodbine on Sunday, May 7

I rarely play Woodbine’s pick five, a 20-cent-base bet with a 25 percent takeout, but it seems getable without spending a lot.

The sequence kicks off in the second race with a short-priced single, GREEN DOCTOR (6). The classy comebacker drew toward the outside in the $10,000 starter, a post from which she should be able to track the other speed before going in for the kill.

The third race, a weak group of $10,000 conditioned claimers, could be a fight to the finish between the front-runners DANCE WITH ME BABY (6) and HAVEAWONDERFULDAY (7).

Peck: Churchill Downs early pick four for Derby Day

The early bird gets the worm, and he may even play the early pick four on Kentucky Derby Day at Churchill, but he'll have to get up very early if he's on the West Coast, as post time for the first leg (race 2) is 8:01 a.m. Pacific. Here's one view:

Peck: Lone Star Park pick four for Sunday, May 7

Are you usually depressed after the Kentucky Derby hangover kicks in? Head over to Lone Star, where a solid pick-four sequence could be the cure for what ails you Sunday.

RACE 6: FOREST MIST and LUCKY RICKY are the two favorites and seem to have an edge on the rest, and while it's generally not a good idea to use two favorites in equal strength to start off a pick-four sequence, these two are tough to separate, and they do seem to hold an advantage.
