TimeformUS Aqueduct Horses in Focus for Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017

Race 3:
Electro (#4)

The Pace Projector is predicting that he will be racing on a clear early lead in a situation where almost all of the other runners are closers.

Is a half-brother to Lady Eli, so has a right to improve with added distance on the turf.

DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Mike Maker is 13 for 56 (23 percent, $2.76 ROI) in turf routes at 10 furlongs or farther on the NYRA circuit.

BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, November 25, 2017, by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

Never have so many of our Pix stopped on a dime as they did last week when both of our races went into the trash as speed said bye-bye at the half mile pole in one case and at the eighth pole in another. On the bright side, 17 BreezeFigs maidens did win during the week so it wasn’t a total loss: Aqueduct (three, including two BreezeFigs exactas), Charles Town, Churchill (two), Gulfstream (two), Laurel (two), Mahoning Valley (two on the same day), Parx (three), Remington and Woodbine.

Is coming off the best performance of his career when third behind Black Tide and Offering Plan in the Mohawk.
The Pace Projector is predicting he will get a fast pace to close into.

Weekend Warrior for Saturday, Nov. 25: Picks for Kennedy Road Stakes, Native Diver Stakes, Hollywood Derby

Thanksgiving week is generally one of the strongest racing weeks of the year, with competitive graded stakes coast to coast. There are plenty of opportunities for horse players on Saturday, but I’m most interested in a race north of the border at Woodbine, as well as two races from Del Mar on closing weekend.

Kennedy Road, Woodbine

TimeformUS Aqueduct Horses in Focus for Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017

Race 1:
Blank Slate (#2)

Is bred to handle extra distance, since her dam was Grade 3-placed going 1 1/2 miles on turf.

Raced greenly when facing a decent field in her debut at Gulfstream.

DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Chad Brown is 5 for 18 (28 percent, $2.28 ROI) with maidens making their second starts in turf routes off layoffs of 180 days or more.

6-1 on ML

Race 2:
Abdaar (#7)

Poshsky (#1)

Free: Del Mar horses to watch for week of Nov. 20

YA GOTTA WANNA
Trainer:
Phil D’Amato
Last race: Nov. 16, 1st
Finish: 4th by 6
Beyer: 69
This trouble-prone maiden-claiming sprinter employed curious strategy. He runs best from off the pace, but pressed the pace losing ground four wide, and tired. Needs a waiting ride.
