After getting bumped at the start, he mounted a wide rally from far back to finish behind the two favorites in the seven-furlong Frost King Stakes. The son of Giant Gizmo is bred to go long, and should get the opportunity to stretch his legs in the 1 1/16-mile Kingarvie Stakes Dec. 9.

The Pace Projector is predicting he will be on the lead in a situation favoring the front-runner.
Has won this race in each of the last two years.

I’ll be taking a shot in the late double at Aqueduct on Saturday, starting out with one of the last grass stakes we’re likely to see in New York for many months, and paying off in an interesting maiden special weight for statebred juvenile fillies.

Having scanned through the latter part of a solid Sunday card at Del Mar and reading it as exceedingly difficult, I thought I’d take my chances with an early single when working up a pick-5 to start the day.

Race 1: I’ll begin the sequence by using logical contenders X S Gold (1), Mo See Cal (2), and My Claw (3) while purposely leaving out the 2-1 morning-line favorite, Super Patriot (8), whose odds surely would be much higher if almost anyone other than Bob Baffert was her trainer, no?

Race 4:
Trilliant (#2)

Our global correspondents at Timeform had positive things to say about her last effort in England, noting that she “is capable of better still, so very much one to be interested in.”

Figures to go off at a more attractive price than the favorites, two of which are exiting maiden wins.

We weren’t the only ones who liked our Pick Augie last week—the first timer was sent off the favorite and was claimed for $75k, but didn’t have the best of luck early and settled for third, beaten a length. Tab him back, of course. On the other hand, a dozen BreezeFigs 2-year-old maidens broke through to the Winner’s Circle last week, headed up by five at Gulfstream West where there was a BreezeFigs trifecta and a BreezeFigs exacta in the mix.

Race 3:
St. Louie (#3)

Ran exceptionally well two back at long odds in the Kentucky Turf Cup.

Moved to the lead too soon when gamely holding off allowance foes last time.
