SPARKY VILLE
Trainer: Jeff Bonde
Last race: May 11, 2nd
Finish: 3rd by 4 1/2
Beyer: 63
This 2-year-old can flat run. Not quick racing 4 ½ furlongs, he trailed the field, was not urged, angled out for the drive, finished big, and galloped out super. Candy Ride colt will be tough to beat second time out.
Race 1
Acorn Street (#7)
Ran well behind good fillies Wealth Effect and Matty’s Magnum last year.
Was hindered by a fast early pace in her 2-year-old finale.
DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Brad Cox is 8 for 26 (31 percent, $2.95 ROI) with horses coming off layoffs of 120 to 240 days in turf routes.
6-1 on ML
Race 4

Is bred to stretch out in distance.

There is a trio of graded stakes to close out the card at Belmont today, so I’ll try to connect them in a pick three.
Race 9: Beauguay
#1 MY IMPRESSION projects a nice trip on the inside under Jose Ortiz and fits class-wise with these. Maybe today she gets her graded win. I’ll also use the two Chad Brown fillies, with preference for the morning-line favorite, #2 INFLEXIBILITY. She’s got a good blend of speed and finish in addition to improving form and speed figures that make her a major threat.
Saturday’s card at Santa Anita features two stakes races – one graded and one not. I’m interested in a horse in the second stakes race, so I’m hoping to be alive in a daily double linking races 7 and 8; if I get knocked out in the first leg, my horse in the second leg should be a solid price whom I can play to win.
