Race 7: Thefinalcrazydude (#8)
Runs best with the early lead, and the Pace Projector is predicting that he is fast enough to outrun his rivals early.
His recent triple-digit TimeformUS Speed Figures suggest he is just as fast as his seemingly classier rivals.
DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Charlton Baker is 9 for 31 (29 percent, $2.64 ROI) first off the claim in dirt sprints.

Our Pick last week, Firecrow, was used too early but at least he managed to complete the super, if you were so inclined. On the other hand, on the same card at Tampa Bay the three maiden races in which there was a BreezeFigs horse were won by a BreezeFigs horse—in two of them the only one in the field. Otherwise it was a fairly typical week for this time of year—the 10 BreezeFigs maiden winners popped up at Aqueduct (two), Charles Town, Parx, Sam Houston (two) plus another one at Tampa Bay.

I’ll be taking a run at the late pick four at Tampa Bay Downs with the standard strategy of mixing in the most likely winners with a few potential price plays. Here’s the layout:
Race 7: This bottom-level N2L race at seven furlongs provides a touch of class relief to likely favorite Road to Damascus (7), with Gray’s Image (10) and Money Broker (11) eligible to trip out nicely from their outer posts.
The New Orleans route to the Kentucky Derby concludes Saturday at Fair Grounds with the Grade 2, $1 million Louisiana Derby. The Louisiana Derby heads a stakes-packed card that also includes three other Grade 2 stakes – the $400,000 Fair Grounds Oaks, the $400,000 New Orleans Handicap, and the $300,000 Muniz Memorial.
The Grade 3, $100,000 Hutcheson at Gulfstream is Saturday’s only other graded stakes.

Race 4: It’s a Shaw Thing (#1)
Was put in a difficult position chasing a loose speedball in her return on Feb. 15.
Showed improvement in her second-place finish last time when overcoming a slow start to lead through fast fractions.
Her speed could make her especially dangerous in this spot, depending on what the firsters do.

Continues to run well in defeat, including in this sprint, where he rallied with interest to get the show behind a wire-to-wire winner. Can run down the right group given a quick, contested pace up front.
