NEW YORK – It’s the biggest racing day of the year at Penn National on Saturday, with the Grade 2, $500,000 Penn Mile topping a card that includes seven other stakes. Santa Anita has a graded stakes doubleheader consisting of the Grade 2, $200,000 Santa Maria and the Grade 3, $150,000 Honeymoon. There are two other graded events Saturday – the Grade 3, $200,000 Pennine Ridge at Belmont and the Grade 3, $100,000 Arlington Matron at Arlington.

Is coming into the race off good efforts, while many of her competitors show declining form.
Was compromised by getting caught in traffic behind a slow pace in the early going last time.
Kendrick Carmouche can take advantage of her improved early speed and get her closer to the pace.

Pressed the pace from the start and weakened only late in a race that set up well for the closers; off the board here but beaten by less than a length in a game effort.

Beyer: No Beyer

Gelding tailed off after he was claimed from Spawr in February, but trainer knows his idiosyncrasies, and reclaimed him from this “eased” performance. Longshot for Del Mar?

A stacked Big Apple Showcase card on Memorial Day offers plenty of races to get interested in at Belmont. Since there are some horses at prices that I want to fool around with early in the day let's look at the early pick four, which begins with Race 2.

The Memorial Day late pick four at Santa Anita features three Grade 1 races and a salty N1X that wraps up the card. There are sure to be some very short prices throughout the sequence – most notably GIFT BOX in the Gold Cup. A sequence like this is a perfect opportunity to use DRF TicketMaker, and that’s just what I’ll do.
