One winning ticket on BC pick six

ARCADIA, Calif. - Zenyatta's popular win in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita capped a $2 pick six that returned $1,838,305 to one ticketholder.

According to track officials, the bet was placed through a Lewiston, Maine, bet-processing hub.

The pick six pool reached $3,313,244, well past the guaranteed figure of $2 million. It was not easy to hit. The winners were Dancing in Silks ($52.60), Vale of York ($63.20), Goldikova ($4.80), Furthest Land ($44.60), Conduit ($3.80), and Zenyatta ($7.60).

Goldikova, Conduit and Zenyatta were favored.

Conduit does it again in Turf

ARCADIA, Calif. - Conduit took down his second consecutive $3 million title on Saturday, but not before Presious Passion nearly stole the race with an exceptional runaway, front-running effort.

Ryan Moore let Conduit dally at the back of the seven-runner field as Presious Passion, as is his wont, dashed to a 12-length lead after sprinting clear on the downhill early portion of the race. Conduit's Michael Stoute-trained stablemate Spanish Moon was closest to Presious Passion.

ARCADIA, Calif. - An historic encore win by Goldikova in Saturday's at Santa Anita showed a new dimension from a filly who has dominated one-mile grass races on both sides of the Atlantic in the last two years.

Instead of blasting to the lead in early stretch with an eye-catching move as she did in the 2008 Mile at Santa Anita, Goldikova and jockey Olivier Peslier used a sustained three-furlong rally on Saturday for a half-length win over Courageous Cat.

Vale of York defeats Lookin at Lucky

ARCADIA, Calif. - European invader Vale of York tipped over the form of the North American 2-year-old division Saturday at Santa Anita, where the Godolphin-owned colt sprang a $63.20 upset in the $2 million .

Vale of York won by a head over 2-1 favorite Lookin at Lucky, the previously unbeaten colt whose runner-up finish was the product of a bad trip that he could not overcome. Lookin at Lucky was wide early, in midpack behind a slow pace, rallied wide, and got outfinished from the inside.
