Zimmerman hurt twice in week

Jockey Ramsey Zimmerman was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being thrown from his horse shortly after the finish of the day's fourth race at Fairmount Park.

It was the second time in a week that Zimmerman has been dumped from a horse. He was also injured during a training session last Thursday. That incident left Zimmerman with a mild concussion and took him out of action on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The extent of any injuries Zimmerman may have sustained in the most recent accident was not known late Thursday afternoon.

Another Fairmount rider, Gilbert Concha, did not ride Tuesday. He is recovering from minor injuries suffered after his horse broke down at the finish line in Saturday's first race.
