X Y Jet gets back to work

X Y Jet was back on the work tab and back in consideration for the Breeders' Cup Sprint after working five furlongs in 58 seconds Thursday morning at Monmouth Park, according to trainer Jorge Navarro. Navarro moved the drill up two days after having originally scheduled the work for Saturday.
"He was supposed to go an easy half, instead he went 21, 33, 45, 58, and galloped out in 1:11 then came back to the barn like nothing happened," said Navarro. "He's still day to day, and we'll let him tell us if he can make the Sprint, but right now I think we can pull it off."
Navarro said he'll bring X Y Jet back for an easy work next Thursday before giving him his main work on Oct. 18 at Monmouth. X Y Jet has not started since posting an easy victory at Gulfstream Park in the Grade 3 Smile on June 30 and had not worked since Aug. 27. He also missed a scheduled start last month in the De Francis Dash due to a minor injury suffered while training up to the race.
