Race 1: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES.
(2) THELEGACYOFVENUS is a full sister to Venus N Serena who didn’t turn into anything special but showed potential at Mohawk right away. Looking for the same here. (6) BETTORDOG is the only filly with parimutuel experience and likely won’t run into a 1:54 and change mile tonight. (3) CONTROL YOUR LADY is progressing nicely and looks like a filly who could show some pop on the end of her mile.

Race 2: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES.
(1) NORTHERN SONNET will show her prowess if she can navigate the rail. She is the only one in this field with one qualifier under her belt, but that could mean she is ready to roll sooner than others. (6) SELECTIVELY SWEET has flashed good early speed in both qualifiers and carried it a long way. I’ll look for a similar result on debut. (4) GEORGIA BLUFFS is progressing but will need to get away closer to the leaders if she wants to make an impact.
Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
I’ll look for (5) WOLVERINE LEGEND to show enough gate speed to outfoot his rivals and potentially trip out. That was the trip he got two back and he just missed. (3) HOT COUNTRY should be a Grassroots threat for most of the summer if he can stay in form. The qualifier should keep him tight enough to make him a big factor. (7) L P BAY is likely working from behind but a live helmet could allow him to follow and get a piece.
Race 4: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES.
(7) TWIN B KINGSLEY has looked visually impressive in both qualifiers. She settled down after a few bad strides in the first turn last week and rallied nicely off cover. (3) NORTHERNLIGHTS GLO is another Bax filly who has just one qualifier under her belt but she showed plenty of late interest. I’ve seen a couple King Of The North fillies now that look decent. (6) CANADIAN QUEEN has some early speed but may not be able to sustain it. I’ll use her underneath in her debut.
Race 5: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(10) MONKEY TALK looks primed for a win after nearly going wire to wire in his latest. I think he overcomes the high draw and breaks his maiden. (7) THE CONQUEROR nearly got a check in his latest after a brief early miscue. He lacks gate speed but a live helmet could help. (4) PETE GREEN flashed some potential at Kawartha with a strong upset win. It’s yet to be determined if he can carry that move on the bigger track.
Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(4) TAVERN ONTHE GREEN hasn’t missed a beat since getting roughed up in his first Grassroots try. He should get towards the front much easier this time. (5) STONEBRIDGE WINGS is improving with each race and is likely to give Roy all he can handle if that form continues. (7) MASS DEPLOYMENT drops from top level stakes and has versatility. I think he might lean towards an off the pace trip, which could leave him out of position against the top two.
Race 7: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES.
(6) QUED UP sustained her early speed in both qualifiers and looks like a filly who will continue to improve. (5) CUPCAKESONTUESDAY brings similar speed and progression for solid connections that should see her right in the mix. (7) MY BETS ON BOB was unable to get past the rival in front of her in both qualifiers but looked solid and showed decent speed.
Race 8: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(6) SOLO TO LEXINGTON is third back on a regular rotation and draws well. I think this is the week she puts it all together. (3) M E LAUREL is logical given she drops from a Gold. It helps that she finally draws well at the maiden level. (9) MY CLASSY QUEEN was a strong second two starts ago but is likely to be working from well back. Her kick could get her up for a piece.

Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(1) FIRST CLASS MASS returns to Grassroots competition where he got back to winning form two starts ago. Last week can strictly be considered a tightener against a winner he was never beating. (2) MAIZE AND BLUE pulled a career best out two starts ago and backed it up in his latest. His form is too good to ignore. (7) ANOTHER GREAT MASS held his own in his Goodtimes elim but this level suits him much better. His versatility should get him into the race regardless of trip.
Race 10: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: N/A $1,580 P/S IN 2025-26.
(3) TREASURE THE DAY was heavily supported last week and raced well, but couldn’t handle a sharp mile from the winner. I’ll look for him to turn the tables. (5) COASTLINE produced his best mile at this level last week and looks to repeat. (8) MAKEMEALEGEND will be pressured from this post if he blasts but is likely to hang on for a piece.
