Early Pick-5: 4,8/3/3,7/6,8/2,8 $3.20
Late Pick-5: 3,4/3,9/3/3,4/6,7 $3.20
Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $32,000) LIFETIME. AE: NW $500 LAST 4 STARTS.
(4) DUSTY ROADS has posted back-to-back strong miles and now gets post relief. Look for him to be forwardly placed again. (8) SHIMMERING HANOVER was a sharp winner two back and wound up the favorite in her division of the Casual Breeze. She is getting better with each start. (5) YANKEE BOOST returned a winner in what was just his second career start. He likely still hasn’t shown us his best.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(3) JOHNNY ANGEL had to settle for second after cutting fractions that were way too quick. I think he rebounds tonight. (7) ODDS ON BULLFROG gets his nose on the gate this week for his second Grassroots try. I think he falls short to the same rival this time, however. (2) WALTERS NIP has only lost once so far and looks like a colt that could unlock more on the bigger track.
Race 3: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 3 RACES) OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(7) JETT OUT EARLY is a colt who is improving and could finally figure it out around the Mohawk oval tonight. (3) P L TACO has decent speed on both ends of the mile, but has been running into top heavy fields of late. I can see him turning things around in a more wide-open event. (2) EA BANK NOTE has some burst but needs to time his move correctly. Last week was a step in the right direction.
Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(6) LYONS GUSTAVOFRING could wind up third choice here and has the gate speed to get into a stalking position. (8) ILLICIT BEHAVIOR was well out of position in his latest but paced a quick mile. He’ll likely make two moves, but he can. (7) WINDSUN GUNNER can get a piece with a forward trip, but I think needs to slightly class up to the top two.
Race 5: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 3 RACES) OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(2) DRIVE FOR SHOW has been close in his last two and should be able to work out a forward trip without much resistance. (8) ALCHEMY HANOVER qualified behind two horses that many had high hopes for last week. His potential makes him a contender in a spot where we kind of know what these others are. (9) D A BODACIOUS got a poor trip in his latest but will have to be used from the outside again if he wants to secure any kind of a trip.
Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(4) CHOW FOR NOW gets a fair shot at the Grassroots level with a better post after a speed try from Mark Macdonald gave him the win. The two team up again tonight. (3) THIRTY SIX RED is on the cusp of winning again and is likely to get a good trip. (8) SAULSBROOK RODEO might have to work from off the pace this time but has shown kick that could put him into contention if he finds live cover.
Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $32,000) LIFETIME. AE: NW $500 LAST 4 STARTS.
(9) CAPTAIN CODE is third back after a better outing in his latest. The problem is the post, but a grinding trip could see him be right there. (3) COURTNEYS PROMISE was a strong second two starts ago and is likely to secure a forward trip again. (4) DELIGHTFUL YANKEE is another filly who finds an easier spot. She is more of an underneath type against these, though.
Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(3) SCORPION SEELSTER really should just prove better than these. I expect him to get a good trip and put the rest of the field away. (2) DR DAVE has been unable to repeat his winning magic this year, but when he is in the right spot, his kick makes him very competitive. (8) BEACH KEEPERS has gotten around multiple tracks nicely and appears to have some speed. Louis Roy reunites with him after qualifying him twice.

Race 9: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.
(4) SPINDOCTOR HANOVER is second back after a decent return. I would look for improvement tonight. (3) SMOKESTACK has produced quality efforts in his last two Mohawk tries. I expect him to grind into contention and get a big piece. (1) BLAST OF SUNSHINE tried to bottom out the field last week but faltered late. I think his usual off the pace tactics come back.
Race 10: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (OS 4) RACES OR $50,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME.
(6) LAND THE PLANE finds himself between stakes engagements but he is clearly improving and should provide a mile that can take down this group. (7) HERCULES was sharp last week and now adds Lasix. Mark Mac could try early speed again and spoil the party at a square number. (8) ONE BELLE has been right there against the boys but might be looking for an off the pace trip tonight. Her race will be decided early.
