Walsh pondering what's next for impressive debut winner Prevalence

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Trainer Brendan Walsh said he hopes to come to a decision soon on a next start for the exciting Godolphin prospect Prevalence, who breezed an easy half-mile in 51.40 seconds early Saturday at the Palm Meadows training center in his first work since a flashy debut last month.

Walsh was en route Monday morning from New Orleans to Florida when he said he needed a little more time to consider what is next for Prevalence, a 3-year-old Godolphin homebred by Medaglia d’Oro. The Fountain of Youth is an option, although Walsh has previously said an allowance is possible if available.

Prevalence earned an 89 Beyer Speed Figure in winning a seven-furlong maiden race by 8 1/2 lengths on the Jan. 23 Pegasus World Cup undercard.
