Walk In Marrakesh's defection allows Unforgetable into Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf

ARCADIA, Calif. - Walk In Marrakesh, second in the Grade 1 Natalma Stakes at Woodbine in September, will not start in the Friday’s Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita, trainer Ignacio Correas said on Monday.
“She’s not as good as we want her to be,” he said. “She won’t be entered.”

Correas said Walk In Marrakesh “was tired after her plane trip” last week.
“She was a bit tired today,” he said on Monday. “She’s only a 2-year-old. She has a future in front of her.”
Walk In Marrakesh will be pointed for the Gulfstream Park winter meeting, he said.
The absence of Walk In Marrakesh will allow Unforgetable into the field from the list of horses that were not among the 14 selected to start by a panel of racing officials after pre-entries were compiled on Oct. 21. Trained by Joseph O’Brien for John Oxley, Unforgetable was shipped to California from Ireland over the weekend.
Unforgetable won a maiden race at Fairyhouse, Ireland, on July 14 and has since been second, 10th and fourth in stakes in Ireland and England. She was fourth, beaten 1 1/4 lengths in the Star Appeal Stakes at seven furlongs on the all-weather track at Dundalk, Ireland, on Oct. 4 in her latest start.
“She likes the firm ground,” O’Brien said in a brief phone interview on Monday. “She’ll have to jump up to win the race.”
