Sonneman works with eye toward New York

Ronnie Betor Sonneman breezed a half-mile on Thursday. He is likely to race next in New York.
Sonneman, a first-level allowance winner on April 4 at Gulfstream Park, returned to the work tab Thursday, breezing an easy half-mile in 49.92 seconds over Gulfstream Park’s main track. Daily Racing Form clocker Mike Welsch caught Sonneman’s first quarter in 24.29.

“Just a nice, easy, very comfortable breeze,” trainer Mark Hennig said.
Hennig said he is hopeful that the New York Racing Association will be able to resume racing by the end of May or early June, at which point he would expect there to be a 3-year-old race available to him for Sonneman.
“We’re in a good position to just wait on that,” Hennig said.
