Santa Anita: Eurton eyes Blue Grass with Dance With Fate

Dance With Fate, second in the El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields on Feb. 15, will be nominated to the Triple Crown for $6,000 in late March, trainer Peter Eurton said.
Eurton stressed that his focus with Dance With Fate is the $750,000 Blue Grass Stakes at 1 1/8 miles on Polytrack at Keeneland on April 12. He said one possible scenario is a start in the Blue Grass followed by the Preakness Stakes on dirt at Pimlico on May 17.

“I think he’s better on synthetics,” Eurton said. “We could think of the Preakness.”
Owned by Sharon Alesia, Bran Jam Stable, and Ciaglia Racing, Dance With Fate has won 2 of 7 starts and $230,050. Dance With Fate was second in two Grade 1 races last year – the Del Mar Futurity and the FrontRunner Stakes at Santa Anita. He was eighth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile last November at Santa Anita.
In the El Camino Real Derby, Dance With Fate led in the final furlong and was beaten a half-length by Tamarando, winner of the Del Mar Futurity.
