The Fasig-Tipton Texas auction at Lone Star Park on Monday night will have fewer yearlings on offer than the corresponding sale a year ago, but the catalog of 129 head boasts considerable depth.
Thursday’s third and final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. August yearling sale ensured that the auction’s open portion continued momentum from its select session held on Tuesday and closed well ahead of last year.
The Michigan Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association has released the catalog for its yearlings and unraced 2-year-olds online auction, to be held Sept. 21-27.
The run of improved figures that started during Tuesday’s select session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. August yearling sale carried into the first day of the auction’s open portion on Wednesday.
Grade 1 winner Daisy Devine will be offered this fall as a racing or broodmare prospect at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. The 5-year-old Kafwain mare will be consigned by Eaton Sales as agent for owner James M. Miller. The sale will mark the return of Daisy Devine to the Eaton Sales shedrow, as she was bred in Kentucky and sold as a yearling by Reiley McDonald, the farm’s owner.
The Washington Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders’ Association yearling and mixed sale at Emerald Downs in Auburn, Wash., saw impressive gains on Aug. 20, reaching an average yearling sale price not seen in nearly a decade.
The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company opened its August yearling auction Tuesday with a pair of $250,000 toppers and hefty increases across the board at its select session.
Arqana’s Deauville yearling sale concluded Monday in France with gains at its single-session Part 2 portion.
