Australian owner Paul Makin will disperse his Paulyn Limited bloodstock at Goffs in November, including 2013 Irish Oaks winner Chicquita, 2013 Swaps Stakes winner Chief Havoc, and some Group 1-winning broodmares now in foal to some of the world’s most fashionable stallions.
The Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society’s premier yearling sale closed Tuesday at the Woodbine Sales Pavilion in Rexdale, Ontario, with across-the-board declines from last year’s edition.

A filly from Discreetly Mine’s first crop and a daughter of classic winner Birdstone brought bids of $65,000 each to top the Fasig-Tipton Texas summer yearling sale that experienced gains across the board Monday night at Lone Star Park. Tom Durant, who is the track’s all-time winningest owner, bought both fillies. They were each consigned by Lane’s End Texas, agent, with the Birdstone filly selling as the property of La Bahia Stud.
