Tattersalls: Gains continue during second Book 2 session

The second of four Book 2 sessions at the Tattersalls October yearling sale in Newmarket, England, concluded with across-the-board gains and a lower buyback rate than the comparable 2012 session. Although the gains were smaller than Monday’s opening Book 2 session, trade at the upper end of the market was more active, with five horses surpassing the 200,000-guinea mark compared with only one on Monday.

Tattersalls: Book Two section begins with sizable gains

A High Chaparral colt sold for 275,000 guineas (about $461,500) to lead Monday’s first Book Two session of the Tattersalls October yearling sale, which followed last week’s record-setting Book One session and improved significantly on the first Book Two session of the 2012 sale in all major economic indicators.

Dam of Points Offthebench among three added to Fasig-Tipton November catalog

Three more offerings have been added as supplemental entries to the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale catalog, to be held Monday, Nov. 4 in Lexington, Ky. The catalog will now include Grade 1 producer Mo Chuisle, the winning filly Amazing Shoes, and a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Corfu.
