Long after Tuesday’s Northern California sale of yearlings and horses of racing age at Pleasanton is over, one consignor could receive quite a bonus.
Prices for New York-breds continued to ramp up at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred preferred yearling sale, with average and median up significantly even though fewer horses found buyers.
Average and median were up once again at the first session of this year's Fasig-Tipton New York-bred preferred yearling sale, held Saturday night at the Humphrey S. Finney sales pavilion in Saratoga Springs, as buyers continued to pay higher prices for horses that are eligible for rich subsidies flowing from the downstate casino adjacent to Aqueduct racetrack.

The catalog for the Goffs Orby yearling sale is now available to view online, featuring 450 entries.
The upward trend of purses and statebred incentives has not been lost on the buyers and sellers of New York-breds, as noted by a record number of entries in the Fasig-Tipton New York-bred preferred yearling sale.
