It's been two years since Flightline roared to victory in the Breeders' Cup Classic – and it will be two more years before his first foals are eligible to appear at a Breeders' Cup. But in the meantime, Flightline's first weanlings will be among the talking points at this month's Kentucky mixed sales, representing a stallion who is already building a major commercial reputation.

Several prominent dispersals add interesting storylines to the Keeneland November breeding stock sale, running Nov. 5-13. Two of those, from historic racing families, made particular waves when they were announced. Stuart S. Janney III will offer a complete dispersal of his breeding stock. The Estate of John Hendrickson – who died in August – will offer a dispersal, as well.
A stallion share in undefeated Horse of the Year Flightline sold for $2.5 million, and Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint entrant Pandora’s Gift sold for $850,000 to highlight the elite offerings at the inaugural Keeneland Championship sale, held Wednesday evening in the paddock at Del Mar, the track that on Friday and Saturday hosts the Breeders’ Cup.

There's something for everyone at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. There are racemares and broodmares to fit a number of programs – including Breeders' Cup entrants and close relatives to runners. There are weanlings who will sell for every price point, to both end users and pinhookers. There are a handful of active stallions, who will most likely go to bolster regional and international marketplaces. And after the traditional November sale, the single-session horses of racing age sale, broken out into its own stand-alone event, provides further opportunities to acquire racing or stallion prospects.
