An unnamed Omaha Beach colt who tied for the fastest eighth-of-a-mile time at the Texas 2-year-olds in training sale topped the Wednesday auction at Lone Star Park when he brought $150,000.

He was one of four horses to sell for $100,000 or more at the sale, according to the Texas Thoroughbred Association. Of the four, three shared the bullet clocking of 10 seconds during the breeze show Monday.

An unnamed Lone Sailor filly fetched $130,000, and an unnamed Goldencents colt brought $120,000, with both turning in bullet works. The other six-figure seller at the auction was an Into Mischief filly who brought $125,000.

The Omaha Beach colt was bred in Oklahoma and is out of the multiple stakes-placed mare Natalie’s Mischief, who was a five-time winner overall. Clark Brewster bought the sales topper from the consignment of Bryan Ford Training Stable.

A total of 60 juveniles sold for $1.69 million in receipts, according to figures posted on the auction website. The average was more than $28,100 and the median was $18,000. There were 25 individuals who did not sell.

“We had a Texas-bred sell for $265,000 last year, which really boosted the average and was one of the highest prices we’ve had in quite a while,” sales director Foster Bridewell said in a press release. "So considering we didn’t have one hit that lofty mark this year, we are quite pleased to be close to $30,000 for our average."

Pike Racing at Highlander was the leading consignor with 15 horses sold for $538,500, according to the release. The Texas summer yearling sale and a mixed session will be held Aug. 26.
