Recent calendars have seen Barretts, the California-based auction house, relocate from its longtime home at Fairplex Park to Del Mar, invest in the racing-age market with its paddock sale, and move its select 2-year-olds in training sale from the beginning of the season to a few weeks down the road.
The 2017 Equine Sales Co. of Louisiana 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age sale showed improvements in gross and average sale price over last year’s edition.
