OBS June: Poseidon's Warrior filly ties for fastest furlong overall

The fourth and final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June 2-year-olds and horses of racing age sale’s under-tack show wrapped up on Saturday with one more horse tying the overall fastest time of 9 4/5 seconds for an eighth of a mile.

The horses breezed over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

Saturday’s fastest one-furlong time came from Hip 741, a first-crop Poseidon's Warrior filly out of the winning Lost Soldier mare Soldiersingsblues, whose five foals to race are all winners, including multiple Grade 3 winner X Y Jet and stakes-placed Woman Soldier. Further down the page are Argentine Group 3 winners Tizna and Trelia. McKathan Bros. consigns the Florida-bred, as agent.

A total of four horses breezed an eighth in 9 4/5 seconds over the course of the four-day under-tack show.

The day’s fastest worker at two furlongs was Hip 631, an Astrology filly, who covered the distance in 20 4/5 seconds.

The filly is out of the winning Giant’s Causeway mare Dreamingly, who has one runner. Her extended family features European champion Rainbow View, Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Raven’s Pass, Grade 1 winner No Matter What, Grade 2 winners Utley, E Dubai, Advice, and Bright Thought, among others. Tom McCrocklin consigns the filly, as agent.

The OBS June sale will take place June 13-14, beginning each day at 10:30 a.m.
