Rainbow Pick Six to be paid out on Saturday
The 20-cent Rainbow Pick Six will have a mandatory payout at Del Mar for Saturday’s Pacific Classic program, although interest may be somewhat muted by what is expected to be a small carryover.
The bet was hit by a single ticket worth $467,147 last Saturday. Through Thursday, the carryover in the Rainbow Pick Six was $66,161. Assuming there is not a single winning ticket on Friday, the carryover may approach $100,000.

The Pacific Classic program typically attracts the most betting of the summer meeting. Last year, all-sources handle on Pacific Classic Day was $36,024,030, a record for a non-Breeders’ Cup program at Del Mar and the fifth-highest in track history.
The figure may be tough to top on Saturday. The 2021 program had a massive carryover of $1,874,996 in the Rainbow Pick Six pool, which had a mandatory payout. Bettors added $8,876,771 to the pool that day.
This year’s 11-race program may threaten the sixth-highest handle in track history of $25.8 million set on Pacific Classic Day in 2018.
