CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 171-50-38-17 / $271.30 (-$70.50) BEST BETS: 11-8-1-0 / $23.90 (+$1.90) SPOT PLAYS: 12-1-3-4 / $3.80 (-$20.20) BEST BET: AMERICAN STORY (3rd) SPOT PLAY: MOVING ON OVER (8th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - $24,117 Pick 5 Carryover (6) SMOOCH IN THE DARK was a very good third in a TM77 series final versus some sharp horses on Saturday. Four-year-old lands in the amateur ranks this week and Hernandez is almost certain to be firing off the gate. (1) SHORE OF HIMSELF had no shot from an outside post at Philly last out. He’s another that should be close to the action with Yogi driving for himself. (4) AMERICAN MERCURY went a very nice mile two starts back to capture a MADC race and he certainly figures in this spot with a decent journey. (9) ROMA AMOR and (10) SEEYOU AT THEBEACH should offer good value on the board and either one could surprise given the right setup. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less/Opt. $7,500 Clm. (4) MASSTER BLUE two-moved to control and was just edged out by (6) ALL TOO WELL, who came uncovered late in the mile. This pair should be sitting one-two here and either could get the win. (2) ZIDANE KEMP is the X-factor in the field. He qualified well on the trainer change to Bongiorno and could simply blow these away if he improves. Race 3: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW 2L4 76.5) or less/Opt. $10,000 Clm. - $11,806 Pick 6 Carryover (5) AMERICAN STORY added Lasix on Saturday and went down the road in a solid 1:52 mile. She steps up now but can handle these with a repeat performance. (3) CATNAP raced well from off the pace in her latest but I can see more aggressive tactics versus this field. (8) TWIN B CARDI B stretches out to the big track tonight and I wonder if she’ll be firing out. With only eight horses in this field, she could be interesting if she makes the top without issues. Race 4: Trackmaster 68 (NW L4 69.15) or less This is an absolutely impossible race and most people will likely be going deep on their multi-race carryover tickets here. I’ll take a stab with (5) THANEEYA, who is tied for the most wins in the field this year with two and could be handled aggressively with Carter taking over the lines. (1) GIRL ALMIGHTY is dropping back down to TM68 and gets post relief as well. The main negative is only one win in her last 47 starts. (6) KENTUCKY MOONSHINE took a shot on the rim last time and couldn’t sustain her rally. Driver change to Bongiorno, who is only two wins behind Beckwith now, is interesting. (4) EA MUSHU tends to do well from the inside of the gate and she hooks back up with Beckwith, who steered her to her only two wins on the year. Race 5: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less/Opt. $7,500 Clm. (5) CAPTAIN CARTER tried to brush to the front on Saturday and while the even-money favorite tried to let him go, she just couldn’t get there no matter how much Bongiorno asked. This is a field where he should be the chalk and have a chance to take charge if not tired from the last trip. (3) PACK YOUR BAGS lands a rare inside spot on the gait and that should make him a player with the right trip. (4) URBAN RENEWAL has been racing ok and now changes barns. The Watson to Sager switch has produced results recently. Race 6: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2 76.5) or less/Opt. $10,000 Clm. - Pick 4 (1) SONO CONFUSO drops back down to the level of his last win and seems likely to be gunning off the wings of the gate. He gets the call versus an interesting collection. (9) UWAITILLGOFIRST took on a strong TM74 field in last from post 10 and really had no chance. Prior to that he posted a huge first-over mile. (5) XPERT was huge with Lasix added; threat with repeat effort. (4) SWIG HANOVER has been keeping good company at Pocono. Notice the 1:50 4/5 mile he was in last time. Adds Lasix and is a definitely win contender as well. Race 7: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,630) in last 5/TM 80.5 (NW L2/L4 82.55/84.65) or less/Opt. $17,500 Clm. (7) REMI LOU A bumped up in company again and almost pulled it off again with another huge mile. There’s seemingly no quit in her right now and you know she’ll be rolling to the front. (9) HERS HUNGRY didn’t exactly have the best trip last week and the outside post tonight doesn’t help with some speed to her inside. That said, she’s more than capable of blitzing this field if on top of her game. (2) TWIN B SUNKISSED started from post 10 last time while coming off a scratch-sick line. She can certainly be sharper this week. Race 8: Trackmaster 83.5 (NW L2 85.5) or less - Pick 5 (8) MOVING ON OVER went a nice, steady mile after missing four weeks in his debut for this barn. Notice the final time was 1:50 at Philly, which is pretty quick. Four-year-old could have more to offer this week. (1) HIRANYA N is off two straight sharp miles and he’s probably the one to beat tonight. (3) CAPTAIN MARVEL left hard, got sandwiched between foes as the heavy chalk last time and made a break. He deserves another look. Race 9: Trackmaster 80.5 (NW L2 82.5) or less (1) HUNGRYHUNGRY HIPPO finds a field that seems to lack many TM80-capable players. He’s off a win and has at least been picking up checks in the class; weak call. (6) BET A BUNDLE is adept in the condition but has been a bit pace dependent. I wonder if they’ll take a flyer on the engine this week? (7) TRUSTED FRIEND is a bit of an unknown. He’s been racing well from behind and seemingly should enjoy the bigger track. Although he has limited starts, the results have been good. (9) DEAN B HANOVER steps up but seems to be coming into form. There is some back class here. Race 10: $20,000-$25,000 Claiming Handicap - Pick 4 (6) GALLIE GETAWAY returns to the Big M and has excelled here this year with a 12-3-6-0 record. Mark Silva trainee will be firing off the gate and if he doesn’t win will likely get second. (8) IDIOSYNCRATIC found his class in start two since the barn change and while he is doubling his claiming price tonight, there is enough class here to think the task is achievable at a good price. (10) CURBSIDE PICKUP is fast off the gate and owns some form as well.  Barn is winning at 27% and it’s comforting to know he’ll be put in play. (3) CHALK HANOVER drops in for a new low claiming tag. Part of me feels like he’ll stay flat on the mile track but the break last time didn’t seem to be due to the turns and more because he wasn’t happy sitting in a hole. Race 11: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73.05) or less/Opt. $7,500 Clm. (7) EXQUISITE got caught in a very quick mile at Tioga last time and prior to that she was used very hard here when up a level on the Trackmaster scale. She has the opportunity to perk up in a spot that is more of a good TM68 than a TM71. (4) DIVIDED WE FALL has been racing well for weeks and is certainly a win threat on her best. (6) PULL ME THROUGH blitzed a TM68 last week and will be a major threat in here with a repeat performance. Race 12: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less/Opt. $7,500 Clm. (3) AROLNDAHAYBLUECHIP was second against mostly better foes last time. While his lack of early speed makes him more trip dependent, he seems capable of taking a bit of air if necessary. (1) SPARTACUS BLUE CHIP was racing well until last time out. I guess I can look past one subpar effort. (7) FREDS FINALE did all the heavy lifting on the front and had to settle for third last time in a pretty fast mile. If he can get away softer this week maybe a win is possible. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2 76.5) or less/Opt. $10,000 Clm. (1) MELISSA P lands a rare inside post and should be in a position to work out a winning trip without having to work too hard early in the mile. (4) NICCOLO wasn’t going anywhere from post seven at Yonkers last time but did win by open lengths when here two starts back. (3) FASHION FOREVER drops back down to the level of his last win. Old-timer doesn’t win often but is certainly capable in a spot like this one. Race 14: Trackmaster 68 (NW L4 69) or less (5) SCANDIA HANNIBAL couldn’t handle the first-over trip last time but finds opportunity here in a field that lacks much early speed. He should be firing out this time and will work out the winning trip if on his game. (6) PARKLANE TERROR rallied nicely for second last time and has hit the board in three of his last four starts in this class. (10) OUR CORELLI N was distanced in his qualifier but that will happen against horses like Captain Albano. 12-year-old drops down and has just enough early speed to make some noise.
