CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 84-29-19-5 / $158.20 (-$9.80) BEST BETS: 5-3-1-0 / $8.10 (-$1.90) SPOT PLAYS: 6-1-3-1 / $3.80 (-$8.20) BEST BET: MIRACLE MAVEN (12th) SPOT PLAY: WHATARACE HANOVER (5th) Race 1: NJ Sire Stakes Silver Final for 3YO C&G Pacers - Pick 5 (9) STINGMAN won leg one by open lengths and got a useful tightener last time. He has the early zip to overcome the outside draw. (8) CORVETTE STINGRAY was on cover with a chance to at least finish second when he was completely wiped out in the stretch. He’s deserving of a second look at what should be a healthy price. (5) OBLITERATE will be firing out and he’s the logical exacta player in the field. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NJ Sire Stakes Silver for 3YO C&G Trotters (4) JULA PRICELESS took a nice step forward in start two on the year as she finished up willingly with no shot at the win. Moving to the big track and picking up Dunn, perhaps we see a more aggressive try. (7) LADY ON THE HILL took on much better last week. I can see Svanstedt firing out here. (5) WISHUPONASTAR DEO made two moves and folded up when met with pressure at Oak Grove last time. Perhaps the venue change will help her return to form. Race 3: Miss Versatility Open Mare Trot - Pick 6 (5) ELISTA HANOVER was just even in her seasonal debut versus a solid NW15000 field. With the start under her belt I can see her firing out here. (2) WARRAWEE MICHELLE has been a bit of a trip horse but one who has shown up in some huge spots. Perhaps this gal has even more power now at age 5. (1) BRAVO ANGEL S is perfect in four starts this year and clearly a win threat. Race 4: NJ Sire Stakes Platinum for 3YO Filly Trotters (1) LEADING LADY doesn’t move as smoothly as I would like but seems to be oozing with ability. That 26-second final quarter last time to win was exceptional. I’ll give her the narrow edge versus a very strong group. (3) CUSTOM was pushed away from the gate in the Oak Grove Trotting Oaks and made a break between horses. The switch to the bigger oval could be huge tonight. She’ll definitely be on my Pick 5 ticket. (7) ISABELLA BI figures to be firing out and if she improves off her first start will give them a run for their money. (2) EMMAS MYSTERY CCL has lots of ability but seems unlikely to be aggressively handled before the final unless she lands in a great spot. Race 5: NJ Sire Stakes Platinum for 3YO Filly Trotters (2) WHATARACE HANOVER trotted home every bit as good as the four horses who finished in front of her in start number one on the year. Svanstedt trainee might be more than meets the eye with a glance on paper. (1) MADAM CHEVAL worked out a perfect trip and delivered in her 2026 debut. She’s the one to beat but perhaps not worth the expected odds-on price. (7) R CANDY held well after showing some gate speed and coming first-over last week. The right trip could get her a big piece of this race. Race 6: NJ Sire Stakes Platinum Final for 3YO C&G Pacers - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) SONOFANUTCRACKER certainly surprised a bunch of people last time with a 9-1 victory but he is the reigning NJSS champ from last year. Three-year-old colt dominated in his lone outing and I’m firmly in his corner. (3) ROCKNACIOUS had no shot from an impossible spot in leg one but took a giant step forward in his most recent start by showing some early speed and lasting for third despite an uncovered trip. Another small step forward and this guy could be very dangerous. (5) BOOKIE J is undefeated this year but far from a lock as this is the toughest test he’s had to date. (9) AZRAEL BLUE CHIP was super in leg one and just ok last time. The post is a major concern but I’d consider taking a shot with him if the price was over 10-1. Race 7: NJ Sire Stakes Platinum for 3YO C&G Trotters (4) NIX NACKEN is more of a big track horse who was out of his element in the Oak Grove Trotting Derby and made a miscue. Don’t be shocked if he rebounds in a huge way tonight. (5) GABES LUCK showed promise in his qualifiers and came up with a very credible effort behind an ultra-impressive winner. He’ll be on my Pick 4 ticket. (1) MEGA SHARK worked out a perfect trip and got the job done all out. I’ll probably fade him off that mile but realize he could win. Race 8: NJ Sire Stakes Silver Final for 3YO Filly Pacers - Pick 5 (2) LADYSASSIN went a tough uncovered trip and paid the price when dropping into this lower NJSS division last time. Now she shows up in the high percentage Bongiorno barn which has won six of 16 starts over the last two weekends. I’ll take a shot that we see a big mile. (1) WHOA BLACK BETTY tucked, brushed and won rather easily last time. She’s clearly the one to beat. (4) STING GIRL has a big stretch kick but hasn’t proven capable of making moves before the lane. Race 9: NJ Sire Stakes Silver for 3YO C&G Trotters (6) DAVID SEAMAN S was in against much, much tougher and watched from last behind somewhat slow fractions before printing home in 26 2/5 when asked. Six Pack-sired colt hasn’t been asked to give his all yet and this looks like the spot to test the waters. (4) MAGA HILL finished a length ahead of the top pick last week but seemed more spent at the end of the mile. Here he has a distinct tactical edge as a horse that could be cutting the mile or sitting the pocket. (7) KING OF THE WIND got hung the mile last time. Will he try to fire out again? (8) NEVER SAY DIE was simply second best in the Garden State. He could win here but seems like an underlay to me. Race 10: Trackmaster 80.5 (NW L2 82.75) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) BLANK STARE returns here for the first time in a while and lands in a softer spot overall from a good post. You have to expect we’ll see a more aggressive try after some off-the-pace efforts. (8) MARLBANK ROAD aborted a leave try and finished very well at the end of the mile last weekend. He hasn’t exactly been a win machine of late but seems to be in good enough form to win with the right trip. (9) CRUSH KILL DESTROY is approaching 20 starts without a win here but is also going good now and deserves some respect. Race 11: NJ Sire Stakes Silver for 3YO Filly Trotters (4) LAND OF QUEENS was very game in defeat in her latest qualifier. Tactical Landing-sired filly lands in a great spot and really doesn’t need to take much of a step forward off the morning miles to win. (1) LA MANCHA was a driving winner last time at Philly and one that could be an interesting player if she picks up her game on the big track. (5) R GEM was second best in perhaps a better field last Friday; player. (2) GRAND PRIX DEO adds Lasix; helps? Race 12: Miss Versatility Open Mare Trot (5) MIRACLE MAVEN put in a strong effort to be second in her 2026 debut and she seems highly likely to control the pace in this abbreviated field. (2) CONVERSANO only has one qualifier but looked good doing it and she trotted home willingly under her own power. She’ll probably get a conservative steer, as will many of these, but can definitely win with the right trip. (6) CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS was purposely kept off the gate and sat behind a pair of gappers most of her recent qualifying mile before everyone closed in on the winner in the lane. There is talent here but I don’t expect her to fire out. Race 13: NJ Sire Stakes Platinum Final for 3YO Filly Pacers (1) BE PERFECT BG doesn’t have a peer in this series and trip seems almost unimportant unless one of the others jumps up big time. (3) NAPALM was bothered a bit coming into the top of the stretch last time and carried wide. That hurt her momentum some and I could see a top effort coming here with a smoother journey. (2) PERFECT THOUGHT is yet another exotic player and one who saw some big moments at age 2. (4) SHE STINGS seems certain to be placed on the engine and is the most likely exacta compliment to the top pick. That said, I don’t see her as heads and tails above the others. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 14: NJ Sire Stakes Platinum for 3YO C&G Trotters I’m very torn here between (3) AMERICAN POWER and (1) DIABOLIC HILL. The former turned in a visually impressive qualifier and followed it up with a powerful stretch rally in his debut to get the win. I lean slightly here on the expected better price since the latter is a stakes winner that was also second in the Breeders Crown. Diabolic Hill also qualified brilliantly while displaying a quick burst of speed. (4) GUSTAV went a big mile on the engine last time to be second. He’ll need an even better effort to win tonight. Race 15: NJ Sire Stakes Silver for 3YO C&G Trotters (3) ICE FALL closed very willingly up the cones while well within himself last time. He catches a much softer group here and should have a big shot. (5) BEE POSITIVE and (6) MUSCLE MAXIMUS are both potential early speed players and either one could be huge threats to wire the field.
