Hush of a Storm continued his love affair with Turfway with his third straight victory in the John Battaglia Memorial, all following a debut on dirt in a maiden claimer at Churchill Downs in which he was eighth of 12 at 33-1. So while he has emerged as a top contender for next month’s Jeff Ruby, his lone dirt race, and the fact he was in for a tag that day, makes it extremely questionable as to his viability as a Kentucky Derby horse.

Senor Buscador injured, will miss Rebel Stakes

Senor Buscador, who won the Springboard Mile and was fifth most recently in the Risen Star Stakes, emerged from a recent workout in preparation for the March 13 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn with what appears to be a minor injury and will be given time to recuperate, trainer Todd Fincher said Monday from Sam Houston, where Senor Buscador has been training.
