Kentucky Derby: Who's hot, who's not for March 13, 2019

WHO’S HOT
Tacitus and Outshine, the one-two finishers in the Tampa Bay Derby last Saturday, are the newest members of the Derby Watch top 20. Tacitus is the third horse on the list trained by Bill Mott. He is listed at 20-1 on the ante-post line of Mike Watchmaker, Daily Racing Form’s national handicapper, for the May 4 Kentucky Derby. Outshine is 30-1. Hidden Scroll, also trained by Mott, is now the third choice on Watchmaker’s line at 10-1, behind Game Winner (5-1) and Improbable (6-1). Those two are scheduled to make their 3-year-old debuts on Saturday in divisions of the Rebel at Oaklawn. Haikal, the Gotham winner, is now 30-1 after being 50-1 a week ago.
WHO’S NOT
Dream Maker and Win Win Win were dropped from the top 20 to make room for the two newcomers. Watchmaker raised his prices on a trio of horses. Instagrand is up to 20-1 after being 10-1 prior to his third-place finish in the Gotham, Vekoma also is 20-1 after being 15-1 last week, and Tax is Watchmaker’s longest price of the 20, now 50-1 after being 40-1 last week.

ON THE BUBBLE
Win Win Win was right behind the two new Derby Watch members in the Tampa Bay Derby. Somelikeithotbrown won the Jeff Ruby last Saturday. But the biggest chances will be provided by the Rebel, with horses like Extra Hope and Gunmetal Gray shipping in from California now that the San Felipe has been canceled.
