Kentucky Derby: Who's hot, who's not for June 17, 2020

WHO’S HOT
Late developers Uncle Chuck, who got a Beyer Speed Figure of 95 when debuting going two turns against maidens at Santa Anita, and Art Collector, who got an even bigger figure of 100 when beating allowance runners at Churchill Downs, are the two newest members of the Derby Watch top 20 following wins last week. Uncle Chuck is 15-1 on the line set by Marty McGee of Daily Racing Form for the Sept. 5 Kentucky Derby, with Art Collector at 20-1.
WHO’S NOT
Finnick the Fierce was removed from the list after his disappointing race behind Art Collector. Mr. Big News did nothing wrong, it’s just that the Derby Watch executive committee had a higher opinion of this week’s newcomers at this stage; there’s still 2 1/2 months to the Derby, so he’ll have plenty of chances to move back on. Because the two new additions came in at such relatively short prices, McGee had to slightly tweak the odds on his top two choices, so Tiz the Law is now 2-1 after being 9-5 a week ago, and Honor A. P. is up to 3-1 after being 5-2 last week. Ete Indien, fourth last week behind stablemate Sole Volante in an allowance race at Gulfstream, was raised to 50-1 from 30-1.

ON THE BUBBLE
Florida Derby runner-up Shivaree, who was third behind Sole Volante last week, was the most notable among those who just missed the cut.
