Kentucky Derby: Who's hot, who's not for June 10, 2020
WHO’S HOT
The impressive victory by Honor A. P. last Saturday in the Santa Anita Derby, coupled with the high-profile defections of Charlatan and Maxfield, caused Honor A. P. to become the second choice on the Kentucky Derby line set by Marty McGee of Daily Racing Form. He is now 5-2, behind only 9-5 Tiz the Law, after being 12-1 a week ago. There are four additions to this week’s list, including two newcomers – most notably Cezanne – and two returnees. Cezanne, off just a debut maiden win, is the fourth choice on McGee’s line at 12-1. Tap It to Win, who appears on the list for the first time, is 50-1, the same price as Max Player and Mischevious Alex, both back on the list owing to the attrition rate. McGee also dropped the prices on Modernist (to 20-1 from 30-1) and Dr Post (to 30-1 from 50-1).

WHO’S NOT
What a week. Charlatan, Maxfield, and Wells Bayou all were removed from the list owing to various levels of injuries, while Shooters Shoot came off the list after fading in the Santa Anita Derby. Authentic, second in the Santa Anita Derby, is now the distant third choice at 8-1 after being 6-1 a week ago.
ON THE BUBBLE
Rushie, third in the Santa Anita Derby, was among those who just missed the cut. Of significant consideration regarding him is that he is not nominated to the Triple Crown, though obviously if he continues to progress he could be supplemented to the Derby. There are no point-scoring races this week. Next up is the Belmont Stakes on June 20.
